For the sixth year in a row, Lehrer Dance kicks off the M&T Bank Dance Series with a stunning concert showcasing the company’s internationally renowned blend of artistry and athleticism. Last year’s triumphant 10th Anniversary Season included another sold-out home performance, national and international touring, plus groundbreaking collaborations with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Burchfield Penney Arts Center, Buffalo Chamber Players, and the Albright Knox Art Gallery. The company is excited to begin their next decade of creating and performing innovative and inspiring dance with this year’s performance at the CFA.
The program will feature two world premieres and audience favorites from the company’s diverse and critically acclaimed repertoire. Don’t miss your opportunity to see Lehrer Dance in Buffalo before they begin their touring season across the country and around the world.

“Rhapsody” – A full company explosion of jazzy fun and excitement…the Lehrer Dance way! Set to classic and contemporary jazz music, the company brings the classic jazz dance vernacular to new heights with this toe taping romp that will leave the audiences smiling and full of joy.
“Sirenic” The woman of Lehrer Dance shine in this female quartet that embodies the ethos of femininity. A visually striking and emotionally moving work, “Sirenic” features the poetic and sonically charged music of Ukranian folk-punk group “DakhaBrakha”.
Lehrer Dance Favorites:
“Murmur” (2012) Originally choreographed as a quartet for 2 couples, the piece has been transformed into a full company work with new costuming, heightening the images of flocking birds and the shared energy of quantum entanglement.
“Pulp” (2016) A full company comedy inspired by the physical comedy of Buster Keaton, with a stylish nod to the films of Quentin Tarantino.
“Troika” (2016) The power of three is on full display in this male trio that exemplifies the concept of synergy – their total effecteach
“Taken” (2011) A stirring solo performed by veteran company member Immanuel Naylor. “Taken” was inspired by Immanuel’s own near death experience in 2007, his first year in the company.
“Pantheon Rising” (2013) With original music by Buffalo native Damien Simon, “Pantheon Rising” is an epic work that has the dancers flying across the stage like gale-force winds, embodying the power and heroic flare of the gods and goddesses who created the universe.
